The goal of this series is to empower laboratories to have structured conversations about race in science through curated journal club materials.

The journal club consists of 5 modules that cover topics like the social construction of race, the rise of eugenics, the (mis)use of race in medicine, and more. Each module comes with assigned readings, a slideshow and a facilitation guide. There are also supplementary modules that focus on actions we can take as scientists.

The series was initiated by Social Issues in Biology (SIIB) journal club and further developed with support from DCDI and Harvard Brain Initiative.
